Fri 07th September 2018 category - general The new model, called Quasar 686 is a direct response to demand from families for a super-size option within the popular family-focused model range. Lee Roberts, Sales Director, explains: “Since launching Lunar’s sister brand, Alaria, on an 8ft wide chassis, we have received a lot of requests from families to produce a similar model but with a Quasar style layout and specification. This new model is for them. “It differs from the Alaria in that it retains the conventional Quasar layout, with bench lounge seats and a dedicated dining area but with the extra-generous proportions the 8-foot wide body shell offers, including headroom up to 6’ 5”. It’s the perfect option for large families that want to be together and enjoy group holiday pursuits,” he adds. The Quasar 686 is a six-berth model with front lounge that converts either into a double bed or two singles. A fixed diner divides the lounge from the kitchen and also converts into a double bed whilst at the rear is a class leading 4’ 10” fixed double bed. There is a roomy rear washroom large enough to accommodate a domestic style shower and lots of handy storage. What's new for 2019? ARIVA/QUASAR The new Quasar 686 will feature the dynamic new bright green exterior graphics introduced across the Ariva/Quasar range for 2019 as well as it’s stylish new interiors, which include soft furnishings in ‘Vienna’, corner lockers in ‘Montana Oak’ and locker doors in ‘Matt Magnolia’. The Ariva/Quasar kitchen gets even better for 2019 with redesigned kitchen locker doors and the introduction of a new microwave, by renowned manufacturer Sharp, as well as a Thetford K-Series oven with a 4-burner hob. In response to customer feedback, the control panel is now flush to the caravan wall and the satellite TV finder has been moved to an easily accessible location. Our design team has looked at methods of adapting production in order to further improve the interior aesthetics of caravans across the range. Two changes for 2019 are a reduction in the number of visible KD fittings (screw caps) and also a reduction in knock-in edging. Bathrooms feature vanity units finished in ‘Montana Oak’ as well as an independently controlled bathroom light switch. STELLAR/LEXON The Stellar and Lexon models also benefit from some of the design changes introduced on the Quasar, including the new flush control panel, relocated satellite TV finder and reduction in visible KD fittings and knock-in edging. The biggest changes for these models, however, are externally with new smart graphics and a restyled front panel all in white. Inside, soft furnishings in creamy ‘Verezzi’ beautifully complement corner lockers in ‘Montana Oak’ creating a calm environment promoting holiday relaxation. The already well-equipped kitchen also gets a capable new Thetford K-series Oven with 4-burner hob and a Sharp microwave. Bathrooms feature independently controlled lighting and, for aesthetics, are finished with vanity unit doors in ‘Montana Oak’. CLUBMAN/DELTA Our premium Clubman and Delta range receives a new white gas locker door and unusual eye-catching new graphics to transform the appearance of the front panel. Maintaining its reputation as one of the most stylish model ranges, Clubman/Delta receives a new interior treatment with sophisticated new soft furnishings in ‘Loano’ and locker doors in ‘Ivory’. This lovely light environment is the perfect space to enjoy restful holiday hours and we have anticipated how this space might be used with the inclusion of front reading lights with integral USB charger ports and there is a DAB radio. Satellite TV finders have also been re-positioned. A great deal of consideration has been given to how the well-equipped kitchen could be further enhanced. The oven has been upgraded to a Thetford K-series Oven with 4-burner hob and there is a new Sharp microwave, as seen across the collection. Whilst improvements to storage include an improved securing mechanism on the sliding baskets as well as a positive locking system on the high-level kitchen locker doors. All year round caravanning is made even more comfortable with the introduction of an optimised Alde central heating system. This comprehensive system is controlled with other electrics via a new Lunar ‘Assist’ touch screen control panel. Based on the Sargent cc700, we have created a bespoke system that is extremely user friendly and allows immediate one touch access to basic functions. The domestic style Clubman/Delta bathrooms are enhanced further with beautiful vanity unit doors in ‘Montana Oak’ and shower units featuring a new decorative style panel. In addition to the lighting and aesthetic changes introduced across all 2019 models, our design team has also provided LED lighting within the wardrobe on the Clubman/Delta models. The new 2019 Lunar Caravan Collection will be on display at the Motorhome & Caravan Show at the NEC, Birmingham, 16th - 21st October.
