Mon 18th May 2015 category - general National Camping and Caravanning Week 2015 runs from Monday 25th May to Sunday 31st May and is organised by The Camping and Caravanning Club with support from the industry, including Lunar Caravans. This year’s theme is ‘Get Kids Camping’ with the Club conducting ground breaking new research, in association with Plymouth University, on the benefits to children of holidaying in the outdoors. They’ll be revealing the results during NCCW and finding out if camping and caravanning holidays help make kids smarter and more creative whilst supporting their learning and development during their important formative years. The new study builds on the Club’s ‘Real Richness Report’, the results of research completed in association with Liverpool John Moores University in 2012 that looked at the association between camping, caravanning and happiness. Amongst the findings was that 8 in 10 campers and caravanners felt the holiday option brought their family closer together. The Club will be staging a pop-up campsite roadshow across the UK with fun outdoor themed activities and competitions to introduce more people to camping and caravanning.
